The 5th of May or Cinco de Mayo is fiesta time at the 11th Annual 'KIDSFEST' filled like an overweight pinata with activities and entertainment for kids of all ages. Other Cinco de Mayo events in Florida this week include Sarasota's 1st Annual Cinco de Mayo and Taste of Latin America Festival and of course you MUST attend the GRAND PADRE of them all - the Cinco De Mayo Chihuahua Races in Delray Beach, FL where anything can happen! For bigger kids looking for things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012 there's always the 'Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival' going on May 4th - 6th in Fernandina Beach. One of Florida's favorites, this celebration of the area's rich shrimping tradition and pirate laden past is a not-to-be-missed mark on the calendar for many this time of year, so why not make it one of yours? While those acts are decidedly tough to beat, there are at least a couple this week that stand a pretty fair chance - those being country MEGAstar Alan Jackson's concert in Pensacola May 4th and playing St. Augustine, Hollywood and Tampa FL - the band on everybody's playlist, The Beach Boys are also on this week's list of Things to do in Florida May 4, 5, 6, 2012. Of the many Things to do in Florida April 20, 21, 22, 2012 one of the most important is the observance of Earth Day. Not all of the events taking place in Florida will land on the 22nd - the actual date of this year's celebration, but they will all remind us how fragile life on this planet really is and offer a chance to unite and mobilize for a cause we all share an interest in. Many of Florida's state parks will be participating making it a great time to visit and enjoy one of Florida's most affordable and family friendly attractions. On a different note, with emphasis on the 'different', one of the many things to do in Florida April 20, 21, 22, 2012 will be happening in the "land of the different" or Key West Florida. You might also call it the "Conch Republic" celebrating their Independence April 20 - 29 this year. Just what the Conch Republic is requires more explanation than can be squeezed in here but you'll find a link to one and lots more than that second on the list this week. Coming in at a respectable third is an event that deserves number one in the category of PURE FUN, and that's the Cardboard Boat Regatta taking place in Cape Coral, FL April 2o and 21. Finding Things to do in Florida April 6, 7, 8, 2012 that have NOTHING to do with Easter is something like looking for eggs at one of the many Easter egg hunts going on all over the state this weekend. It can be challenging but they ARE there, so grab your basket with the plastic grass and half eaten bunny and let's see what you can find. Basically, this IS an Easter list and mostly what you'll find are Easter egg hunts and at least a couple of Easter parades to help celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For many of us who were born and raised on Florida's First Coast, the 54th Annual St. Augustine Easter Parade brings back many fond memories and among all these things to do in Florida April 6, 7, 8, 2012 this event is one of the odds-on favorites to create many more happy memories again this year. For others much farther south, the not-to-miss Easter Parade is at the Miami Seaquarium's 'Bunny Palooza' where Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande will be this year's Grand Marshal! Finally, this precious and solemn occasion is for many, best observed at sunrise reflecting the moment when life changed forever as the 'Light of the World', God's son rose giving hope to us all. These and many more things to do in Florida April 6, 7, 8, 2012 are finally ready for the hunt, so as always, have yourself a good one and have a Very Happy Easter!
